Participant Risk Acknowledgement & Release

1Acknowledgement of Risks

I understand that outdoor, coastal and night photography involves inherent hazards that cannot be fully eliminated. These include, but are not limited to:

• Uneven terrain, cliffs, rocks, and unstable surfaces
• Coastal swell, tides, and unpredictable water conditions
• Darkness and low-visibility environments
• Adverse weather including wind, rain, cold, and lightning
• Wildlife encounters
• Road travel to and from locations
• Equipment failure (personal or workshop)

I acknowledge that participation involves a degree of personal risk and that not all risks can be anticipated or controlled.

2Medical Fitness & Disclosure

I confirm that I am physically and mentally fit to participate in outdoor, coastal and night photography activities. I have disclosed, or will disclose before the workshop commences, any medical conditions, injuries, mobility limitations, or other health considerations that may affect my safety or participation.

I understand it is my responsibility to carry any required medication or medical equipment, and to inform the workshop leader of any changes to my condition prior to each session.

3Instructions & Conduct

I will follow all safety directions given by Dylan Knight Photography staff at all times. I will comply with all applicable park, council, and permit rules, and any conditions specific to the locations visited during the workshop.

I understand that failure to follow instructions or rules may result in my removal from the workshop without refund, as set out in the Terms & Conditions.

4No Drones

I understand that drones are not permitted on any Dylan Knight Photography workshop, including all sessions, meet-ups, and group activities. Any drone operation by me is entirely outside the workshop, on my own time, without the permission, involvement, or insurance coverage of Dylan Knight Photography.

5Assumption of Risk

I voluntarily choose to participate in the workshop and assume all risks associated with that participation, including those listed in section 1 and any others that may arise.

6Release & Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, I release and indemnify Dylan Knight Photography, its staff, contractors, and agents from any claim, loss, damage, cost, or liability arising from my participation in the workshop, except to the extent caused by the negligent act or omission of Dylan Knight Photography, or a liability that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in this release excludes any non-excludable rights I have under the Australian Consumer Law.

7Insurance

I understand it is my responsibility to arrange and maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the duration of the workshop. This should include, at minimum, cover for personal accident, medical expenses, and equipment.

Dylan Knight Photography holds public liability insurance up to $20 million for approved workshop activities, but this does not cover participant personal accident, health, or equipment.

8Governing Law

This release is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and applies throughout all Australian states and territories in which the workshop or associated travel occurs. I submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

Participant Declaration

By signing the physical copy of this document at your workshop, you confirm that:

• You have read and understood all sections of this document.
• You agree to each of the above terms voluntarily.
• You are 18 years of age or older (or have written parental/guardian consent attached).
• The information you have provided is accurate and complete.
